Enjoy a day at the beach!

If you came to the shore to simply relax, then Westbrook will not disappoint. This Shoreline town is like stepping back in time. Simple pleasures abound, from unspoiled beaches and lovely estuaries to the local pollinator gardens that make a simple stroll a delicious memory. Arrive on Friday to select from among the town’s many charming accommodations, including The Captain Stannard, the Westbrook Inn Bed & Breakfast, or the Bushnell House Inn, all of which offer charming, personalized accommodations. If you want more of a resort atmosphere, Waters Edge Resort & Spa is the perfect choice. After checking in visit the Westbrook Town Green, where you can enjoy events and gatherings of all sorts, including terrific free concerts every Friday night all summer! For a light first-night dinner, grab a sub at Hartford Giant Grinder and pick up a bottle of wine at Cindy’s Wine & Spirits. In the morning, stroll to Julie’s Cup of Joe – the quintessential local coffee shop, which also serves delicious pastries. Then head to West Beach where the sandbar stretches far into the sound and the swimmin’ is easy. Grab a lobster roll at Hog Wild Smokin’Cue smoke shack — and in the afternoon, paddle the sound in a kayak rented at Black Hall Outfitters or hike through Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge. After a nap and a hot shower, enjoy dinner at any one of the awesome restaurants in town. Bill’s Seafood is a crowd pleaser with waterside dining and live music. Lenny & Joe’s Fishtail provides awesome fresh seafood options. And Edd’s Place is a casual, open-air treat. If you are looking for food with flair, Café Routier tempts with French-inspired entrées, The Bistro Mediterranean delivers delectable tapas, and Sammy’s Place has superb Italian cuisine. Your perfect day is capped off at Coastline Brewing, where the craft beer and live music around a firepit under the stars is the perfect ending to a perfect day.

It’s our primary mission, now that on-line purchasing and big box stores have made it increasingly difficult for small, locally owned enterprises of all kinds to compete. Indeed, we take pride in declaring that goal on the front page of all our directories with the words Connecting Local Residents with Local Businesses to Better Our Community…Buy Local – Find it Here.

Toward that same end, we are offering newly customized advertising packages created specifically to make appearing in The Shoreline Book even more worthwhile for our advertisers. These packages include:
