Seabury At Home (SAH) is an affordable future-care option that ensures healthy, active adults over the age of 50* living in Connecticut can maintain their independence and enjoy the peace of mind of aging in the comfort of their own homes.
Most dictionaries define well-being as “being healthy, happy, or prosperous.” But Seabury’s mission has always been to protect all three. It has been since 1876, when Church Home of Hartford, Incorporated — doing business as Seabury and an affiliate of Connecticut’s Episcopal Church — first dedicated itself to providing housing and support services for older adults. It has been since the Seabury Active Life Plan Community first opened in Bloomfield in 1992. And it has been since SAH was founded in 2008.
What is Seabury At Home?
Founded in 2008, Seabury At Home established itself as the first home-based Life Care program in Connecticut and the fifth in the nation. It is an affordable future-care option that ensures healthy, active adults over the age of 50* living in Connecticut can maintain their independence and enjoy the peace of mind of aging in the comfort of their own homes. Seabury At Home currently serves over 330 Members across Connecticut and the greater United States.
The benefits start the moment one joins and continue for a lifetime— covering the cost of long-term care in Connecticut and beyond. That means becoming a member of SAH before its benefits are needed is a wise move that will eliminate the profound difficulty of trying to manage an unexpected change in the wellness of oneself or a loved one by ensuring the highest quality of care immediately and affordably.
Seabury At Home protects health.
The following services are available to members from Day One — ensuring optimal health from Day One.
- A Personal Health Coordinator (PHC) available by appointment or phone 24/7;
- Fitness and wellness benefits;
- An emergency monitoring and response system;
- Initial and biennial home safety inspections;
- Referral service for needs such as home maintenance, legal, financial planning, etc;
- And transportation for qualified medical procedures.
- And should a member’s health change in the future, SAH will respond with additional services, as needed, including:
- Home nursing (skilled care);
- Home health aides (personal care);
- 24/7 live-in companions/home health aides;
- Adult day programs;
- Coordination of home delivered groceries/meals;
- Priority access to Seabury’s assisted living, memory support center, or skilled nursing — or another facility of that member’s choosing, as needed;
- And health care is provided on both a short-term or long-term basis, including skilled nursing.
And Seabury At Home protects wealth.
- Eight different coverage levels assure that there is a plan to fit almost every budget;
- Rates are specifically designed to make SAH an affordable, low cost alternative to senior living communities;
- Seabury At Home membership can be integrated with an existing long-term care policy to give policy holders a discount on monthly fees;
- Membership and monthly fees may be considered tax deductible as a pre- paid medical expense;
- Membership fees can be credited toward entrance fees to Seabury’s independent living apartments and cottages;
- And SAH’s long-term costs remain predictable, eliminating surprises and safeguarding members’ financial assets.
And because your Seabury At Home membership is portable, it goes where you go.
That means members may travel, relocate, or just stay put, according to what makes them happy — because the third aspect of well-being is happiness, and SAH is committed to protecting that, as well.
